Oregon Coast Ghost Forest After Dark
Waves wash around the stumps of the Ghost Forest at twilight in Neskowin, Oregon.
Though nobody knows the origins of the ghost forest, it is theorized that sometime within the last 2,000 years a cataclysmic earthquake caused this chuck of forest to drop to sea level. Then preserved by sand and mud, these petrified stumps are around today rather than naturally eroding.
